Hustle, Girl....Hustle. How to balance your SeneGence business with your 9-5 job.

Working two jobs at over 60 hours of time a week can be extremely hard and draining! Here are some tips to help make thousands of dollars a month in sales!

Being an entrepreneur is tough. No one said network marketing isn't just that...WORK! It's not easy, you will be up late nights and early mornings.... you're going to have to learn to become comfortable in uncomfortable situations, but it will be worth it. You dictate your business and your craft. You decide what hours you work and how hard you are going to work. That’s how I honestly look at this business. If you don’t get up and consistently post (even if you hear crickets on the spotty algorithms) if you don’t wear your stripes and get out there all the time looking for business…you’re basically telling your customers and any potential customers that you’ve closed up shop. So here are some of my top tips for working your 9-5 and working your SeneGence business.

1) Time Management -

I’m sure you’ve heard this one a million times! The reason you’ve heard that is because it’s unbelievably important to everything you do. Plan everything. Even down to the weekly meals you’re cooking (this one I learned from my dear friend Lacey Demalis). Spend a Power Hour (mine are usually on Sunday nights while I’m lying in bed unwinding) to fill out your planner or calendar pack that sucker full of everything you can think of for the week and also write a note on different days to follow up with someone who ordered 1-2 weeks before. Don't be sales-y that just turns people off, you want to build relationships with them... this is the ultimate key to customer service. Get your social media posts planned on an APP like ipreview, Planoly or PLANN..you can also now pre plan your Facebook posts as well. This is essential if you’re busy and on the go. I also plan to eat everyday at my desk to return customer messages or team questions. I get back from work, walk the dogs, workout, etc. but whatever I may be doing you bet I am wearing or showing off my product and I have business cards and stock on me at all times. Also, have a calendar link ready for a customer with a demo because the back and forth is insane and you could lose out on possible demos and parties. Calendly.com and Wix have great free calendar options.

2) BE COMPETITIVE -

Be competitive with yourself. Do NOT compare yourself to someone else, because each journey is different but be competitive with YOU and constantly challenge yourself to be better . If you had one month where you didn’t get a single recruit fix it, talk to more people and take the next month to get one. If you didn’t make sales like you thought analyze what maybe didn’t work with your customers and change it up. You don’t have direct control over results and outcomes. You can’t dictate who becomes a distributor or customer. You can’t control what others do once they are involved.

But YOU do have complete control of your own personal activity. If you focus on ACTIVITY, the results and outcomes will take care of themselves. But if you just focus on RESULTS and constantly look at them, you’ll end up frustrated.

3) Find a Community -

More often than not, people want to help you. They may not want to immediately buy anything from you but they want to help. This is one of my most lucrative tips for you, if anything. Reach out to local photographers. Many of them need stylized shoots for their portfolio and they are always looking for makeup artists. I’ve made that a mission and have had several use my makeup services and then pass me on to brides from their photography.

My other big use of community is where you live. Find neighborhood social media groups to post to about girls night or if you live in a big apartment complex ask your Management team to send out an email blast for you whenever you are doing something. We know Wow, Book, Demo and Directing is the key to the money and it 100% is. Actually, when I finally felt really confident in this business and talking one on one in person, it started becoming more and more lucrative. Don't spend your days behind a computer posting what others have made in a graphic and say, "I made a post, someone is going to buy!" that's just not going to happen. Put your face out there talk to people.

When I moved into my new apartment complex in May, I made sure to befriend all of my apartment management team. Every Tuesday night or a night I’m off work they will send out a resident email blast to all of the tenants that I’m doing mini makeovers and wine. Lots of ladies show up to my door where I’ve made a makeup studio and they come in and shop and we chat and have girl time.

Find a space in your home that can be yours and solely dedicated to you SeneGence or network marketing business. Even if it’s the corner of a room…set up some wall shelves and place your stock where all can view and ask about it. People are visual and if things are out and about to play around with and see they are going to ask about it.

4) Show More People -

Having a bad day? Show more people. Not feeling good about your current results? Show more people. Spouse doesn’t believe in you? Show more people. SMP will pull you out of ANY funk, help you with ANY circumstance and is the ONLY way to actually change your results. Keep in mind it is your habits that created your results so change those habits and…SHOW MORE PEOPLE! Talk to everyone and anyone. Pass out booking materials, pass out samples and get your name out there.

5) Have you thought about teaching classes?

One of my new favorite things is teaching classes, I have a link on this page where people can sign up for a class.Women LOVE classes...let me tell you. I can't even tell you how many times I've signed up for a chalk painting class, wine and paint night or learning how to make your own terrarium classes. I’ve started opening up my schedule to classes for women and for teenagers. After talking a lot to my customers one day they all kind of informed me a vast majority are tomboys and have no idea how to properly apply makeup. This is also being passed down to their younger teenage daughters (and sometimes sons). So for some awesome mommy/daughter time I will teach classes on what products to use and how to apply. I charge them in product same as all of my makeups so then they have a fun experience with each other and get to apply the products to their face and then get to take away some amazing products after they've completed their learning.

6) My last tip is DON’T Give UP!

Coke sold only 25 bottles in their first yea! Now where would we be if they would have quit? No brick and mortar store or business was built and paid off immediately you have to invest and give a little blood sweat and tears to make it all worth it...... but is it? Absolutely, every time you get to make a sale and change the way someone feels about their face it’s worth it. Every time you get to add a bit of additional money to pay off that medical bill, or student loan or take that vacation you’ve always wanted it’s absolutely worth it.

Go out there and channel your inner sales boss babe! You've got this girl. You can absolutely have it all, IF you're willing to consistently put in the work and hustle!
