Makeup Tips for all you Gorgeous Gals over 40!
I’ve recently been making up more and more beautiful women’s faces over the age of 40. By doing this, I’ve discovered that a lot of women have kept the same products and the EXACT same routines that they’ve always done for decades. Adapting your makeup and skin care routine to properly give them their most youthful appearance or what I like to call the “Glow Up” is essential. As you age your tastes change, you have to start dieting more because your body seems to hold on to that extra hot fudge Sunday you ate right?! Your clothing choices adapt, your sleeping patterns change... everything changes. So why hasn’t your skin care and makeup routine? As you get older, it’s all about finding that youthful glow of skin through makeup that your body has stopped naturally producing. Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks for anyone who is nearing 40 or older.
Skip the setting powder. You need to make sure your skin is looking dewy and youthful. Applying a setting powder can cause some of the powders to set between those beautiful laugh lines you’ve earned through the years making your skin look too matte and older.
Try these:

When picking a foundation color once you’re over the age of 45 start looking at foundations that have a slight yellow undertone. It’s not totally universal but as you age the pallor of your skin becomes a bit different. Many mature women look better in a warmer shade of foundation.
Pro Tip:
Going a shade lighter than you would normally pick in your foundation will also aid to a more youthful appearance.
Invest in a cream based blush. Any powder based blush will become stuck in wrinkles and laugh lines if not blended out properly. A cream based blush not only lasts longer than powdered blush, it blends seamlessly to give you a nice airbrush finish.
Try:

Eyes are the most important! As you get older, the skin around your eyes is the first to show age breakdown. This is because the skin around your eyes is very very thin, making it more susceptible to developing fine lines, wrinkles and crepey skin. Make sure to say YES! To eye cream. Find cream based eyeshadows as well. They will blend easier on the eyes and won’t settle into any fine lines.

Basically, you know how everyone is always talking about how soft babies skin is? Well, it’s because babies are born with very high levels of hyaluronic acid. As you age, your levels get lower and lower with the most significant loss of elasticity and hydration in the skin happening after the age of 40.
Surgeons or dermatologists can inject hyaluronic acid fillers into the skin for a more youthful appearance but I think the best way is to find a highly concentrated topical treatment.
Try this:
